4 Day Trek to Lares and Machu Picchu

Lares is a small town in the north of Cusco. Place where we will begin with our adventure tour that offers the best views of the sacred valley; In this route we can see native people of the Andes, different snowy peaks, lagoons, etc., and a greater variety of Andean flora and fauna, the adventure offers us the opportunity to interact with the native and indigenous communities.

Camping near villages and among mountains, lakes and spectacular Andean forests enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains until arriving at Ollantaytambo and finally Machu Picchu.

Day 1: Cusco - Calca - Lares Hot spring - Huaca Wasi.

5:30 am we pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. We drive with the direction of the town of Lares the trip lasts four hours. On the way we will pass through the Sacred Valley of the Incas after passing an open path and finally descend to the medicinal thermal waters of Lares.

Place where after lunch and meet with our horseman we will start the tree hour hike observing local types and beautifull landscapes with their typical costumes until we reach the town of Huaca Wasi, where we will spend the first night. After an enjoyable dinner at (3,600 M.S.N.M.)

Day 2: Huaca Wasi - Auroray Lake - Mantanay - Yanahuara.

Every single Day our cook will wake you up with a hot coca tea and then have our breakfast and after we will start walking up for about 3 hours to getting to the highest point along this valley we will find people producing some of the finest weavings in Peru. We will pass over 4600 m.a.s.l

From here we catch a stunning view of the Auroray Lake, descending gently for about 1 hour we get to the Auroray Lake where our delicious lunch will be waiting for us.

After lunch we keep walking down for tree more hours, this part will be easier by a flat and long road to the town of Yanahuara where our camp will be set it up.

Day 3: Yanahuara - Aguas Calientes.

After breakfast, we begin to walk along a gentle path to the Yanahuara viewpoint, from there we will have a beautiful panoramic view of the Sacred Valley including the salt mine of Maras.
We will have plenty of time to spend here and then we back to have our last lunch with our cook and say good bye to them.

Then we take our transport to Ollantaytambo train station to take the train to the town of Aguas Calientes wich takes 2 hours and overnight there in a confortable hotel with a private room, hot shower, wifi included.

Dinner will be included in a restaurant.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco.

Today you will visit Machu Picchu. You will visit the famous sacred city of the Incas, the precious stone city of Inca development. You will decide, with your tour guide, the best time to start your day. Many people want to ascend at 4 a.m. walk to the transport station to take one of the main transports to Machu Picchu.

It can be nice to get to the base in the vestiges when they open, at 6 a.m., to obtain the supernatural mists in the remains when the sun rises. After an hour hike to Machu Picchu, your tour guide will take you to the best prospects before hikers arrive. At that point, we will begin the guided tour of two hours, investigating most of the renowned places of this great bastion: the Temple of the Sun, the Royal Tomb, the Intiwatana, the Main Square and the Temple of the 3 Windows. The Artisan Sector, the Temple of the Condor and many others.

After the visit, you will have a schedule to explore the remains on your own. In case you have booked an extra hike to ascend the mountain Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu, you will go to that hike. Around 2:30 or 3 p.m., you must take the transport to Aguas Calientes to appreciate the lunch in one of the numerous restaurants that are there. Make sure you get to the train station 30 minutes early.
