Vinicunca is a mountain pass located about a 3 hours drive southeast of Cusco city, in the opposite direction of Machu Picchu, Inca Trail, and the famous Humantay Lake. Known more commonly by locals asLa Montaña de Siete Colores(mountain of seven colors) and by travellers as the Rainbow Mountain Peru or Cerro Vinincunca, the geographical wonder is famous for its rainbow tonality- a surreal natural phenomenon of mineral deposits streaked across sandstone rock.
In an area claimed to have one of the most impressive mountain sceneries in the Andes, Vinicunca is close to the snow-capped Ausangate, the highest and most sacred mountain in the Cusco region.

What is vinicunca?
Vinicunca is the place where the mountain of 7 colors is, Recently it was made known to everyone and since then it receives thousands of visitors.
One of the most amazing places that I have visited in my life. But should be very prepared physically to trek until the top where is 5200mt above sea level.
One of my favourite tour companies I have ever booked with.. was a great service from start to finish… Juve’s knowledge and passion was evident throughout. I would highly recommend this company as the tour are also very small (not a massive group) so you also get a better experience
Fantastic experience but tough to those who are not good at altitude like me. I used a horse to go up to half way for 60 solos, which was helpful. Early start is worth it as not many people around but FREEZING!
breathtaking nature. literally. it’s a high altitude walk. take care. be prepared and you Will be really pleased with the beauty of it.
The climb was so worth it!!! It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Prepare well for the altitude but it is a must visit!
