From Cusco to the Enchanting Path of Urquillos and Aguas Calientes
Your adventure begins in the ancient city of Cusco, from where we’ll traverse the scenic Sacred Valley in a comfortable private van. The journey’s first gem is the vibrant village of Chinchero, a tapestry of history, archaeology, and traditional craftsmanship. Here, we’ll delve into the Inca ruins, including the grand palace of Emperor Tupac Yupanqui and the storied Main Square, offering a window into the Inca Empire’s past glory.
The trek from Chinchero to Urquillos unfolds next, a serene 8 km downhill walk. The trek’s highlight is the Poc Poc waterfall, a 50-meter cascade of pristine water, creating a tranquil and rejuvenating environment.
Concluding our hike in the charming village of Urquillos, we journey to Ollantaytambo, an archaeological marvel and the gateway to Machu Picchu. Here, you have the option to upgrade to the Vistadome train, offering panoramic views of the transitioning landscapes, from the Sacred Valley to the lush periphery of the Peruvian rainforest. Our day ends in Aguas Calientes, preparing for the upcoming exploration of the majestic Machu Picchu.
