Your adventure begins before dawn as we pick you up from your Cusco hotel at 4:30 a.m. The drive to Capuliyoc offers a spectacular introduction to the Andes—panoramic views of lush valleys, terraced slopes, and snow-capped peaks like Salkantay and Humantay.

After a nourishing local breakfast, meet your trekking team and begin the descent toward the Apurimac Canyon. The trail unfolds through dry, warm landscapes, echoing with the sound of the river below.

By late afternoon, arrive at our private Santa Rosa campsite, where a hearty dinner and a peaceful mountain night under the stars await.

The Ascent to Choquequirao: Discovering the Lost Inca Citadel

Awaken to birdsong and a brilliant sunrise before beginning your climb to Choquequirao, the “Cradle of Gold.” The path rises through misty cloud forests and Andean ridgelines, revealing the first terraces of this magnificent Inca site.

Spend the afternoon exploring its plazas, temples, and ceremonial platforms. Your expert guide will bring ancient legends to life as you admire intricate stone carvings and sweeping mountain vistas.

As the day fades, descend to Marampata campsite, where you’ll share a warm meal beneath a sky illuminated by countless stars.

Following Ancient Paths and Tasting Andean Traditions

After breakfast, retrace your steps through Choquequirao and descend toward Santa Rosa. Stop at a traditional family hacienda to taste Cambray, a sugarcane spirit distilled in the valley—an authentic touch of local culture.

Continue downhill to Rosalinas Beach, cross the Apurimac River, and begin your rewarding ascent to Chiquisca. The evening is spent around campfire stories, laughter, and a shared meal beneath the glittering southern sky.

Day 4

From Canyon Trails to the Sacred Valley
